Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc. Combines its Fabrication Operations into a Larger New Single Location

Waukesha, WI – Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc. (WMPI) has moved its metal fabrication shop and fabrication equipment to a 27,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility at 1805 Pewaukee Road in Waukesha. The new facility gives WMPI additional manufacturing space and improved logistics and material handling capabilities, including a 5-ton overhead crane.

“The move will help us run our operations more efficiently,” said Dan Erschen, WMPI president. “It will also enhance communication within our fabrication department and with our customers.” The equipment was formerly located on Westmound Road in Waukesha. WMPI’s headquarters remain at N4 W22450 Bluemound Road.

State-Of-The-Art Equipment

The new facility houses WMPI’s solid state laser metal cutting capabilities as well as other fabrication services such as bending, punching, welding and assembly. The company has two TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 fiber units, each powered by a 5,000-watt TruDisk laser. Fiber systems can cut metal three to five times faster than CO2 lasers. WMPI’s systems can cut metals, including reflective metals, up to .80" thick, such as steel, stainless and aluminum. They can also cut copper and brass up to 1/4" thick. WMPI also has a BrightLine fiber option to further improve cut quality in materials .63 to 1.00” thick, and uses material handling automation allowing minimally attended or even lights-out operation.

Additional state-of-the-art equipment at the larger facility includes a 14-ft., 330-ton SafanDarley press brake for metal bending and a TRUMPF CNC punching machine which can also do some forming and tapping right in the machine.

One Shop for All Production Metal Parts

WMPI’s solid state laser services complement the company’s complete manufacturing offerings and assembly services. With its new fabrication facility, which doubled the company’s welding capacity, WMPI continues to grow its business as one shop where customers can get all of their production metal parts.
