Pre-production prototypes were needed to prove out process on this steel cup. We used our wire EDM capabilities to cut a stack of flat blank parts and then built single hit tooling, utilizing our internal prototype die set. This allowed us to prove out what was needed for the progressive tool and allow the customer to do their functional testing and finalize their production design. This was all done within our customers budget and timelines.
