2022 Year in Review - Wisconsin Metal Parts

Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup:
April 9th

Wisconsin Metal Parts adopted the segment of Bluemound Road outside of our building and spent a handful of weekends this spring and summer cleaning it up. We are proud to contribute to our community in this way and enjoy seeing the clean roads as we drive into work.

National Skilled Trades Day Tours

National Skilled Trades Day Tours: May 3rd

To celebrate National Skilled Trades Day, Wisconsin Metal Parts hosted facility tours at both of our locations to high school students. These students come from a variety of Southeastern Wisconsin High Schools, and are in the dual enrollment program at WCTC. These tours gave them a chance to see what their future in manufacturing could look like.

We walked them through our Fabrication Building as well as our CNC and Stamping Departments. Students were able to hear more about the various skills they can learn and get their questions answered by industry professionals.

Design 2 Part Schaumburg Show: May 11th

Tradeshows are back and we headed down to Schaumburg IL to attend Design 2 Part! We had a great time meeting both vendors and customers and made some great connections. We look forward to returning in 2023.

Golf Outing

Golf Outing: May 14th

WMP was able to host our 1st annual company golf outing at New Berlin Hills. We had some risk of rain but the weather held off and we ended up having a beautiful day. There were multiple winners for prize holes and a group winner for the overall team scramble event. It was a great way for us all to enjoy the outdoors and get to know each other better outside of work. Some participants had never even played golf before!

10 Years of Top Workplaces:
May 17th

We were awarded the Journal Sentinel Top Workplaces for the tenth year and could not be more proud! We are thankful for the people at Wisconsin Metal Parts who made this award possible with their dedication to excellence and by exemplifying our values of Purpose, Pride and Passion! We are using this award to motivate us further to create the best experience for employees possible and fostering a healthy and prosperous environment to work in.

Finalized the move

Finalized the move: June 3rd

Although we moved into our new location at Pilot Ct, it took us a few months to get everything settled and organized in the most efficient way. We now have a front-to-back fabrication workflow set up which has allowed us to increase output and serve our customers better.

Haas VF-5SS: June 22nd

We invested in new technology for our Tool Room. This new machining center has a bigger table and more tools available to increase the capacity. This is the start of a new initiative to update the technology in our toolroom to better serve our customers.

MHVI Fundraiser

MHVI Fundraiser: June 25th

We hosted our 2nd annual Brat Fry Fundraiser for the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative at Nettie’s Irish Pub and Grill! We raised $3,000 that will go directly to providing assistance for at-risk veterans and their families in Wisconsin. There was a raffle, a bags tournament, and lots of great food and drinks. Many people turned up to have a great time with friends, family and coworkers!

Air Purification: June 28th

We added in a Hastings air purification in to our Pilot Ct location, specifically in the welding department. This improves safety for our employees and the facility by removing welding dust and fumes that could otherwise be inhaled during work or migrate to other areas of the shop. And after seeing the benefits of adding in air filtration units to our welding department, we decided to add eight units in our stamping area as well!

HVAC System Installation

HVAC System Installation: July 7th

In order to keep our employees cool for the summer, we installed a new HVAC system into our Pilot Ct location. We added 6 Trane, 15-ton Heat/AC units and one 10-ton unit to our new building, the final touch we needed after moving and getting the shop organized. Having a climate-controlled shop allows for less moisture to get into the air and affect the metals we are working with, and allows our welders to get a higher quality weld, along with keeping our people comfortable while they work.

New Building Signs: August 4th

New signs were built and installed in our new Pilot Ct location. Over the course of the year, we have been settling into this new facility and wanted to add our own personality to it. We added a monument sign with our address as well as our logo and company name to the eastern face of the building.

Brewers Outing

Brewers Outing: September 17th

WMPI gathered for a fun tailgate with food and cornhole, then headed into the park to watch the Brewers beat the Yankees! Many employees, their families and friends came out to enjoy a warm September evening with great company.

HAAS VF-5SS Number Two!: December 20th

We added a Haas VF-5SS and 5-axis machining to our toolroom! This machine is the same as the one we added in June, but we included the TR210 55-axis trunnion with this machine, which allows us to do 5-axis machining. This a new capability and we are excited to be able to offer this to our customers to serve them better.
