Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc. Adds to its Fabricating Capacity

Waukesha, WI – Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc. (WMPI) recently added to its solid state laser metal cutting capabilities. The company has two TRUMPH TruLaser 5030 fiber units, each powered by a 5,000-watt TruDisk laser. WMPI now has open capacity to process an additional two to three semi-loads of material per week (150 to 180 hours of beam time).

With fiber systems that cut three to five times faster than CO2 lasers, WMPI can produce most flat laser work within a few days. The systems can cut metals, including reflective metals, up to 3/8" thick, such as steel, stainless, aluminum, copper and brass. WMPI uses the BrightLine fiber option which further improves cut quality in thicker materials, as well as automation for efficient material handling.

One Shop for All Production Metal Parts

WMPI’s solid state laser services complement the company’s complete manufacturing offerings and assembly services. They are part of WMPI’s growing business serving as one shop where customers can get all of their production metal parts.

WMPI has also strengthened its metal bending capabilities with a large electric brake press for metal bending. In 2014, the company installed a 14-ft., 330-ton SafanDarley E-brake. The electric brake is faster than hydraulic brakes, especially on larger part runs, and produces consistent part quality while running almost silently. Production metal stamping, CNC machining and a full-service tool and die shop round out WMPI’s operation.

The company’s highly skilled employees receive extensive training in new technologies and are cross-trained in different areas to handle workloads and apply expertise. WMPI runs three shifts and maintains a high employee retention rate.
