At Wisconsin Metal Parts, we provide precision welding services for low-volume prototypes through high-volume production runs. Our experienced team and controlled processes ensure consistent weld quality across complex components and assemblies. We support a wide range of welding applications and materials, delivering strong, reliable joints for both structural and cosmetic requirements.

Welding services are available as a stand-alone process or as part of a fully integrated manufacturing solution, supporting both full and sub-assemblies. Common projects include welded frames and structures, enclosures and brackets, and multi-component assemblies.

Our welding department is equipped to handle a variety of part geometries, material types, and production volumes. We perform both manual and fixture-based welding using expandable welding tables and custom fixturing built in-house.

We support both precision welds for tight-tolerance components and structural welds for durability and strength. Materials We Weld

Material selection and weld method are carefully matched to ensure strength, appearance, and long-term performance. We routinely perform welding on a variety of metals used in fabrication and manufacturing, including:

  • Steel (carbon and galvanized)
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum

We also support specialty materials and mixed-material assemblies depending on project requirements.

Welding Quality & Inspection

Quality is critical in welded components, particularly where strength, fit, and appearance are essential. Our welders are certified to the D1.1 Structural Welding Code. We also work with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who can certify our welders and processes to required AWS codes and specifications.

We inspect all welded parts in-house and can accommodate customer-specific quality and documentation requirements. We utilize a variety of inspection equipment to perform visual and dimensional checks, as well as fixture verification to ensure repeatability. Our team regularly performs First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), in-process inspections, PPAP, and provides material and process certifications. Wisconsin Metal Parts is ISO 9001:2015 certified and ITAR registered, with cybersecurity compliant to NIST SP800-171, ensuring your project data remains secure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials are you able to weld?

Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminum

MIG welding uses a continuous feed wire that acts as a consumable electrode and also filler for the weld. TIG uses long filler rods that need to be hand fed during the welding process. MIG welding is generally faster, allows for thicker materials and is overall more versatile. TIG welding can produce finer welds in thinner materials but is a much slower process.

Spot welding is used to join two thin gage sheets together by sandwiching material between two electrodes and passing a current through them causing the sheet materials to bind together.

We have agreements in place where we process and ship orders within 3 days. Others might take 2-4 weeks. It depends on the materials needed and if there is any painting or plating involved. With some good planning we can work out a delivery schedule that meets your needs.

We can do low volume prototyping, usually as pre-production runs. However, repetitive volume is what fits us best.

We have a OTC Daihen FD Series Arc Welding Robot in our shop as well as an IPG Laser Welder.

We have a Certified Weld Inspector on staff and can certify welds in-house. We can also supply FPI & X-Ray inspections.

We are currently welding projects as large as 5’ x 10’

Typically, we only handle materials up to 3/8” thick. The welders here are certified to the D1.1 structural welding code and are qualified up to ½”
