What can we do for you?
We have high speed, state of the art sheet metal fabrication equipment that is best suited for repetitive, low-to-high volume and high-mix production runs with a variety of materials. As a complete tool and die shop, we are skilled in all areas of fabrication including fiber laser, CNC punching, CNC bending, CNC forming, welding, CNC machining, hardware insertion and assembly. Many of our processes are automated, such as the material handling on our two fiber lasers, allowing us to run minimally attended or even lights out. We can handle any portion of your project from laser cutting flat blanks to providing you with a full assembly ready to ship to your customer.
Our Technology
- Fiber lasers with material handling automation, 60 x 120″ max sheet
- CNC Punching: 20-ton capacity. Max. sheet size 48″ x 96″. Material thickness range .006″ to .25″
- CNC Brakes: Up to 300-ton capacity and 14 feet of bending
- Hardware Insertion equipment
- MIG, TIG & Spot Welding
- Deburring: Mechanical, vibratory, hand deburring and polishing
- Managing painting, plating or other subcontracted services
Materials
We stock raw material in sheets, plates, bars or tubes and are experienced in working with a variety of materials like aluminum, copper, stainless steel, carbon steels and galvanized steel. Our typical max sheet size is 60 x 120″ and material thickness 3/8″ or thinner fits us best. We also work with cosmetic materials with laser film, such as #4 brushed stainless.
Quality
Inspection is usually specific to each customer. We inspect all of our work in-house and can provide you with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), in-process reports, materials and process certifications. Our quality department regularly performs PPAP as specified by our customers. We have a variety of inspection equipment including CMM, laser scanning and held instruments. Share what you need and we will find a way to accommodate it. Wisconsin Metal Parts is ISO 9001:2015 and ITAR certified. Cyber security is approved to NIST SP800-171 so your export restricted (ITAR) files are always secure.
Metal fabrication is the process of transforming raw metal materials into finished products through various techniques such as fiber laser cutting, CNC punching, CNC bending, CNC forming, welding, CNC machining, hardware insertion and assembly. Metal fabrication can be done with a plethora of material types and thicknesses, giving it versatility in its applications. This type of manufacturing allows for precision, strength and functionality in the final product while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Although our lasers can process thicker material, our optimal thickness in steel & stainless steel is 0.060”.
We also can process aluminum up to ¾” and copper up to 3/16” thick. We have cut up to 1” Steel but prefer the cut off to be 3/8”
We have agreements in place where we process and ship orders within 3 days, while others might take 2-4 weeks. It depends on the materials needed and if there is any painting or plating involved. With some good planning, we can work out a delivery schedule that meets your needs.
We can do low volume prototyping, usually as pre-production runs. However, repetitive volume is what fits our equipment best since everything is CNC controlled and we have material handling automation. While this takes slightly longer to set up, we make up for it with speed and repetitive accuracy.
Absolutely! We have a full complement in our Fabrication department and a full-service CNC department for milling and turning.
We have several CMM’s, including a Romer Arm. We also have a Virtek Laser Scanner that quickly inspects flat patterns in a matter of seconds.
