Our customer came to us with a need for repairs and new racking built to fit their existing production equipment. These racks are made from 316SS and require passivation before being put into production. We use fiber laser cutting on the sheet stock, tube cutting, brake press bending, CNC machining locational holes and CNC turning for the locating pins in the corners. We also built custom weld fixturing to help control all of the critical dimensions during the TIG welding process. Working with their engineering team we were able to identify some cost saving improvements and help tweak the design to better fit their equipment and process. This is an ongoing project that includes us performing routine repairs and also serializing new racking for their maintenance tracking. These racks are approximately 40” square and designed to stack upon each other while maintaining a precise location for the formed cradles.
