As a direct result of our expertise in CNC machining of castings, a client in the storage and shelving industry contacted us to complete this turning rack, as part of a family of cast machine parts. We are also experts in tool making and created the hydraulic fixturing needed for this project. The turning rack was made from A-380 cast aluminum with a 63Ra finish that we drilled, tapped, bored, and broached on our vertical CNC equipment. The finished part measured 10″ x 11″ x 1.25″ and weighed 1.5 lb. We machine approximately 40,000 of these yearly and deliver them to the customer’s facility so they could be part of an automated storage assembly application.
